Stop Nurse Bullying

There is a despicable phrase about our profession that I refuse to say or write, but it is in regard to the idea that we consume our offspring. I won’t speak or write it because it must stop. Now.

Nurse bullying continues to be a problem in hospitals and healthcare organizations. Nursing is stressful, and stress can lead to people being rude to each other. Improving the work environment is a key factor in reducing that stress, which ultimately affects patient outcomes and satisfaction scores.

We can’t always control the situations. But we can always control our reactions to them. Be kind. If you witness bullying, politely call attention to it. We must care for each other and our “young.” Stop bullying. Now.
